North America Security Services (NASS) is a licensed security company focused on providing professional security services to our customers, meeting their diverse needs with specialized uniformed armed/unarmed security, consulting and investigations, executive protection and more. The company serves as a one-source, customer-centric management solution for manned guard and electronic surveillance. We are located in Texas, North Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee. We are licensed to provide security, investigation, and training services across the State of Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee. Jeff began his security career in 1992 as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. After completing two years at Fort Polk in Louisiana where he served as a Patrol Officer and on the Post Installation Special Reaction Team, Jeff served six years in Brussels, Belgium. While in Brussels Jeff performed Military Police and Executive Protection duties for NATO Headquarters. Jeff’s duties were to provide executive protection for U.S. dignitaries traveling throughout Europe.
Jeff joined Securitas in April 2000 as Client Service Supervisor and in March 2001 transitioned to the Branch Manager position. In February 2006 Jeff was promoted to Area Vice President where he led fourteen Branch Managers and managed a $45 million portfolio business throughout North Texas. In June 2014 Jeff departed Securitas to partner with North America Security Services as co-owner.
Miranda has a passion for talent acquisition and an interest in building the most effective workforce possible by helping NASS find their perfect candidates to serve their clients. She also offers advanced experience in compensation, benefits, new hire processes, and promoting company culture. She also assists in spearheading special projects and other business development endeavors.
Lakita Cavin is the Corporate Counsel and Chief Operations Officer for NASS. She brings several years of legal and business experience to the company. Lakita has over 13 years’ experience in providing legal support and guidance on intellectual property matters for inventions and creations developed under government funded research, as well as those developed by private individuals. She has been involved in the filing and prosecution of over 100 patents and/or patent applications. Also, she has extensive knowledge and experience in drafting and negotiating various types of contracts with academic, government, and corporate entities, including technology licensing contracts and service contracts. In addition, she has worked in private practice to provide legal counsel to clients on several matters including domestic, business, probate, and intellectual property matters.
In addition to her role at NASS, for more than 6 years, Lakita has been part owner of a home care company where she manages its day to day operations, which includes interacting with clients and employees, and maintains its compliance with government rules and regulations. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Texas, and the District of Columbia. She is also a patent attorney and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Worked the past 30 years at the world’s second largest security firm holding many positions ranging from on-the-ground roles a security officer to branch manager. Chris has been a Branch Manager for the last 20 years. Held the position of Operations Manager for 5 years prior. As Branch Manager, Chris responsible for managing a staff of over 200 employees and directly supervised numerous field supervisors in the field.
Erskin serves as the Manager for the Mississippi and Tennessee branches of North America Security Services. He has a BS in Industrial Management and has worked for multiple Government Agencies.
He spent nearly 20 years working for the Department of Defense and 30 years for the Department of Transportation. Erskin served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer, and a Staff Officer. During the time of his service, he was responsible for planning, training, and executing the daily activities of combat troops. In addition, Erskin has also held various management roles such as Front Line Manager, Platoon Leader, Company Commander, and Battalion Executive Officer.
In serving in these different capacities, he has worked in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia. He brings a diverse background of leadership to the organization.
Irma Ramos brings to our team over twenty years of security management, human resources, and investigation experiences. She advanced quickly in her career after beginning as a receptionist and eventually gained more responsibility in her promotion to Branch Manager. Irma held the position as Human Resources Manager for many years and has a unique perspective and approach to recruiting, staffing, and building relationships with the employees. Irma takes pride in her ability to job-match in order to find the right candidate for the client and to ensure the employee is assigned to a post where they can find meaningful work and feel fulfilled while succeeding. Through her years of diversified experience she plans to leverage the skills honed into growing NASS in the South Texas Market and building upon relationships shes developed and maintained over the years.
Howard Newton has been in the safety and protective service industries for over thirty years. He spent twenty two years as a Military Police Chief in the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Captain. Howard holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Public Safety and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management. He is a licensed Private Investigator and Personal Protection Officer. He is familiar with the South Texas market very well and has established many meaningful and long-standing relationships. Howard sees the business as more than just staffing a post and approaches each site from a number of angles to ensure both client and employee satisfaction. Some of these customers he has served for over twenty five years! In his free time, Howard also enjoys spending time outside and being active.
